How to weigh and pack a large letter
To make sure that your large letter remains within our size and weight limitations, it’s always best to weigh and measure your package before sending it.
First, you’ll want to buy a hardback envelope or cardboard sleeve that fits within our size limitations, to keep your letter’s contents safe. You’ll then need to weigh it once you’ve packed your item. To do this, we recommend using a set of digital scales – kitchen scales are ideal – in order to accurately weigh your large letter or postable parcel. If it’s 1kg or less, it’s ready to be sent.
How to save money when sending large letters
Although we keep our delivery prices as low as possible for postable parcels, you should always be sure to weigh your parcel correctly before sending it. The price you pay will be based on your parcel’s weight, so by double-checking it before booking a delivery, you can be sure that you’re only pay what you send.
Large letter parcel cover
While we do offer free parcel cover up to £20 on parcels weighing 1kg or more, as well as additional cover should you need it, this does not extend to our large letters and postable parcels.
That’s why we recommend ensuring that your envelope or packaging is as protected as possible. Use heavy-duty tape to secure its edges and add additional bubble wrap protection inside if need be – especially if the item you’re sending is delicate.
