What is a parcel safe place?
We appreciate there may be times when you need to pop out, or you know you’ll be out on delivery day. Choosing a ‘safe place’ tells us of a secure spot at your address where our Couriers can leave your package ready for when you get back, or somewhere you can collect it from. This handy service means you can receive your parcel straight away without having to wait for a redelivery.
So how do you choose a parcel safe place and how can you let us know where it is? We’ve put everything you need to know in this handy guide on helping you pick the best spot for keeping parcels and guarantee their delivery.
How to choose a safe place with Evri
We’re encouraging all of our customers to choose their preferred parcel safe place for deliveries.

- Log in or create an account
- Set your preferences using My places
Alternatively, if your package is already out for delivery, you can divert it to a chosen parcel safe place at any time during the delivery process. If you have a tracking number for your parcel, you can go to the tracking section on our website or App. All you need to do is choose ‘divert’ and select a safe place.
How to choose a good safe space
When picking a safe place for your parcels, there are three key things you should bear in mind:
Shelter
No matter the weather, your safe place needs to keep your parcel protected from the elements, so the contents stay dry and undamaged.
Away from view
Make sure your chosen parcel safe place is in a secure spot, out of sight such as in a shed or porch.
Easy for us to find

Popular safe places for your parcels
From sheds to delivery boxes, there are a range of ways you can keep your package safe. When you’re not at home, our most popular safe spaces include:
Letterbox
If your parcel can be pushed into the letterbox, our Couriers will take a photo before the parcel is posted through to prove where it has been left.
Back door
If your back door is accessible, and provides a sheltered and secure spot, our Courier will leave your parcel here as requested.
Porch
An enclosed front porch is ideal to place your parcel and perhaps tuck it away behind a plant pot away from view. Just remember to keep the porch unlocked when the Courier is scheduled to deliver.
Parcel box
Parcel boxes are becoming more popular with the security and storage benefits they bring for when you aren’t available for a delivery. If your parcel box has a safe code, you can add this in your instructions for our Couriers to use on the App. Our Courier will pop your packages in the parcel box and secure them ready for you to collect.
